A few words form Linda:
My name is Linda Howard, and I have been teaching yoga in Baltimore, DC and Annapolis since 1993. I started practicing hatha yoga because I was a stressed-out sales and marketing person with a lot of back, neck and other health problems. I recognized after my very first class that practicing yoga made me feel better physically and mentally. After completing a teacher training course, college level psychology, anatomy and physiology courses and apprenticing with several teachers for a few years, I quit my day job and became a full time yoga teacher. I am a R.Y.T. 500. That means I am registered with the Yoga Alliance at the highest qualification level. I am influenced by the Iyengar and Anusara methods of hatha yoga. I have completed numerous teacher training courses over the years, and I continue to study with nationally recognized instructors. I am an experienced, professional yoga teacher and I have a practical, fun loving approach. I provide a safe and welcoming environment. Your classes with me will focus on proper posture and body alignment, increased flexibility, strength and endurance, and stress reduction techniques. You will work at your own pace with my guidance. I will help you identify your goals and give you individual attention and instruction to help you reach your goals. The subject of yoga is immense and consists of much more than hatha yoga, which is the study of posture and breath. My classes focus on hatha yoga (which do not include incense, candles, or chanting) in a room kept at a comfortable temperature. I don’t spend much time talking about yoga philosophy. I trust the process of hatha yoga to unfold and reveal the beauty and peace that can be found with the practice in each student in his/her own way. I think if you begin to practice hatha yoga, you will feel better. You will feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. In addition to Basic and Continuing level classes, I have developed and teach corporate and retreat programs, yoga for celebrations, and Easing Into Yoga
