Teachings
What will class be like?
Your class will be fun and uplifting and you will feel
better when you leave.
You will be given detailed instruction and individual attention. You will work
at your own pace with my guidance. You will never be pressured to do anything
that you do not feel is right for you.
Your class will begin with a resting position to help you breathe better and
give you a moment to prepare yourself for the class. You will learn a short
series of warm ups that are repeated in each class to encourage you to practice.
The body of your class will build on the lessons from the previous week. Your
class will end with a guided relaxation.
Your class will not include incense, candles, or chanting. The room will be kept
at a comfortable temperature.
The subject of yoga is immense and consists of much more than hatha yoga, which
is the study of posture and breath. Your class will focus on hatha yoga. I don't
spend much time talking about yoga philosophy. The process of hatha yoga to will
unfold and reveal the beauty and peace that can be found with the practice in
you in your own unique way. If you begin to practice hatha yoga, you will feel
better physically, mentally and emotionally. You will learn how to deal
effectively with stress, which will lead you to a happier, healthier life.
Class Descriptions
Easing Into Yoga™
Designed to allow students to begin the practice of yoga with
confidence, Easing Into Yoga™ takes a slower approach to the beginning
yoga postures. Emphasis is on full breathing, learning body alignment
skills and relaxation techniques, using supportive props, and
increasing mobility, flexibility and strength. This is an appropriate
class for those recovering from an injury or illness, seniors,
expectant mothers, couch potatoes, or anyone, who, for whatever reason,
could benefit from a slower approach to the beginning yoga postures.
Basics / Level 1 /
Designed for beginning students new to yoga or new to alignment in
poses, or those who prefer to practice at a basic level. The class is
instruction-oriented with emphasis on proper alignment, and is
appropriate for all ability levels, including those without yoga
experience. Students are encouraged to work at a level that is right
for them and modifications are made to meet individual needs.
Continuing / Level 1/2 / Intermediate
For students who have taken yoga classes with Linda previously, or for those who
have an established alignment oriented yoga practice and know the basic
postures.
Prenatal
Prenatal students are well cared for, and welcome, in Easing Into
Yoga™ and Basics/Level 1 classes. Check in with your health care
provider to determine your participation.

The subject of yoga is immense and consists of much more than hatha yoga, which
is the study of posture and breath. My classes focus on hatha yoga (which do not
include incense, candles, or chanting) in a room kept at a comfortable
temperature. I don't spend much time talking about yoga philosophy. I trust the
process of hatha yoga to unfold and reveal the beauty and peace that can be
found with the practice in each student in his/her own way. I think if you begin
to practice hatha yoga, you will feel better. You will feel better physically,
mentally and emotionally.
In addition to Basic and Continuing level classes, I have developed and teach
corporate and retreat programs, yoga for celebrations, and Easing Into Yoga ™, a
program which is ideal for you if you are intimidated by regular yoga classes,
recovering from illness or injury, or interested in a slower paced class.
To help you ease your way into yoga, I offer a first class free opportunity. I
invite you to attend your first class and see if yoga is right for you.
